Who, what, and where

Who can join?

If you feel confident holding your own in a 2 person improv scene and are ready to add the magic of music, then this is for you! You don't need to be a singer, you just need to love and enjoy the idea of musicality as an enhancement to improv.

Who's coming?

We have tapped our improv network in Michigan and Illinois to come together for a weekend of play.

The budding improv scene in northern lower Michigan has experienced improvisers imported from major markets and also have improvisers who have  'come up' through the mitten ranks.

Yes, it sucks to have to plan around this! All participants must be vaxed and boosted. We will have rapid Covid tests available to everyone upon arrival. If student cancels due to testing positive for Covid at the start of the workshop (or 5 days prior and/or Covid symptomatic) then 50% refund.

What if Tilt Think cancels?

We need 10 participants to run the retreat. In the case that we do not have enough sign-ups, or that the instructor tests positive for Covid-19 within the quarantine period (5 days prior to the course), then all payments will be refunded.

About Us

Tilt Think Improv - offering classes and shows, based in Traverse City, MI

Hi, We're Lisa and Chad and we love improv, we love music, and we love playing improv together! So, what could be better than doing musical improv together, and inviting lots of old and new friends along for the ride? (Note, this picture is not of Chad and Lisa, but of Chad and Pete. We like Pete too. Buddy Photo of Chad and Lisa pending).

Lisa started Tilt Think Improv in Traverse City, MI, three years ago, when she moved here after living 15 years in Belgium. It was Brussels, Belgium, where Lisa first fell in love with improvisation, after many years doing scripted musical theater. She was a member of the international improv touring group 'The Ghost Sheep' where they dabbled in musical improv...but Lisa wants more!

Chad comes from a family of musicians and plays multiple stringed instruments. He loves making up songs and musical ditties and finds ultimate joy in matching stories, words, and singing. He's also a joyful improviser who puts a goofy spin on every scene.
