What's different from last time?:
3 more hours of instruction
Instead of a student showcase downtown, we'll pack in more instruction on Sunday afternoon. The last hour on Sunday afternoon will be a culmination of our work and a select few of our friends/family can join us at our workshop space to see of what we've been up to.
Sam Super will lead Saturday's instruction. He will focus on scenic work foundations to strengthen our scene-to-song chops.
This advanced improv course will take the foundation of music improv and apply it to unique improv forms that focus on elements of storytelling, grounded scene work and group mind. Who, what, and where
Who can join?
Those that attended Part 1 of the Musical Improv Retreat in April 2022. Also, those that feel confident holding their own in a 2 person improv scene and are also confident in their musical chops.
We have tapped our improv network in Michigan and Illinois to come together for a weekend of play.
The budding improv scene in northern lower Michigan has experienced improvisers imported from major markets and also have improvisers who have 'come up' through the mitten ranks.
How to sign up?
Just hit the "PayPal" button if you are ready for payment (we also accept Venmo). Or, if you have questions, you can email here.
Where in the world?
The retreat takes place at Camp Haven on the shores of Glen Lake, just a stones throw away from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. See here for details.
Address: 7627 S Dune Hwy, Empire 49630
Making a vacation of it?
Camp Haven is less than one mile from the foot of the famous Sleeping Bear Dune Climb and at the backdoor of the Sleeping Bear National Park entrance where beautiful bluffs, vistas, and trails await you. World class wineries, breweries, and culinary delights abound in the region. If you haven't been to the region before, consider squeezing in at least one extra day to really enjoy the bountiful serenity of the area!
